The place where the crusty plushies are.

Now train travel really does have its perks- had I not been traveling to the country on the train I would have missed this glorious bit of train station art. A lot of little stations like to decorate their stations and this was right up my alley…. I think it is like crusty old plushy toy purgatory… Makes me want to make a wall of unfortunate old plushies…

STEWY RABBIT

STEWY RABBIT

There was a little rabbit,
His friends all called him Stewy;
He got busy in his kitchen
To make some ratatouille .

He chopped up some potatoes,
He’d dug from a neighbors plot
Some turnips and some carrots -
Naturally with the latter quite a lot.

He filled a pot with water,
And slipped it on the heat.
He fancied that it’s toasty warmth-
Could be a bunny bath time treat.

He dipped a paw into the water,
And found it was just right;
With a hop he leaped into the pot;
Squealing with delight.

Soon Stewy rabbit mused,
That his soak could be made better.
And decided he should season it,
With a pinch of salt and pepper.

He looked at all the vegetables
he had labored to prepare.
He thought what a dreadful waste t’would be-
not to use such tasty fair.

So all the veges tumbled in-
To the simmering pot.
So soak along with Stewy
Until they were nice and hot.

The stock pot simmered slowly,
Soon Stewy was encased,
By an aroma so enticing,
He just had to have a taste.

He sipped the soupy liquid,
In a manor most judicious.
And soon proclaimed with great delight
The verdict- “I am delicious.”

Holidays and chocolate at the grotto

The end of a ghoulie grotto holiday usually brings forth a sigh of relief, mostly from ones waistline. But we have had a rip roaring good time, visiting new places and trying new things and generally indulging in sloth and decadence. Personally I think I am a devotee of the unplanned break- it’s probably the closest to “living on the edge” that I care to get these days (And to think once I considered sky diving and white water rafting…)
When executed correctly, a holiday usually brings for the a flood of inspiration and an avalanche of new ghoulie ideas, so I am up to my tragic endings in sewing and arty mayhem.
On an entirely different note, I had the very good fortune of attending the savour cooking school in Sydney road Brunswick.
Yes indeed, I wasn’t sure I should be their either, not being an expert chef by any stretch of the imagination, but this was major chocolate fun on a world class scale. With the expert tutorage of handmade chocolate making world champion Kirsten Tibballs even I was able to make some impressive small scale chocolate works of art in the chocolate garnishes class, even I was amazed! This was a great day with loads of chocolate goodies to make and take home and my head is still spinning at the amazing array of chocolate possibilities.
For all of you chocolate voyeurs- check out the Savour school gallery
